Maths and English Tests

What to expect:

The Prison Officer Selection Tests are a job-specific measure of Maths and English skills.

Maths - 20 minutes
The Maths test measures the following:

  •  Counting
  •  Addition
  •  Subtraction
  •  Multiplication
  •  Division
  •  Reading and working with numerical information on graphs/tables
  •  Calculating percentages
  •  Calculating ratios

 

English - 30 minutes
The English test measures the following:

  •  Reading and understanding written information
  •  Completing standard forms
  •  Checking for errors/discrepancies in information
  •  Applying rules
  •  Reporting information
  •  Writing

  •  Take the practice tests shown on this page
  •  Practice timing yourself to read and write
