Job Title: Employee Experience Networking Manager

Salary: New entrants to the Civil Service will be expected to join on the minimum of the pay range. 

Existing Civil Servants will have their salary calculated in accordance with the Department’s pay on transfer / pay on promotion rules.

Contract: 1 x FTA with the possibility of extension to 2 years or permanency.

We are looking for a motivated Employee Experience Networking Manager to work in an exciting and developing environment. This innovative role sits within the People Insights, Experience & Information (PIXI) Team within the Change & Development Directorate of MoJ People Group (HR).

This role offers a unique opportunity to work collaboratively across many business areas and functions in one of the biggest and most complex departments in Whitehall.

You will provide the connection between us and our end user networks, ensuring a seamless and co-ordinated approach to improving employee experience at the Ministry of Justice.

You will manage, develop and configure the PIXI team’s digital community channels, including the creation and publishing of content, engaging with volunteers who represent over 85,000 employees across the department.

Working in collaboration with key stakeholders across all of the MoJ business areas, including prisons, courts, probation and the arm’s length bodies, you will enable our employees to have their voices heard. You will assist in the design of new HR products and services, by providing access to a pool of key contacts, understanding the importance of putting the end user at the heart of our projects.

Overseeing the team’s continued online presence, ensuring messaging is consistent, up to date and follows a standardised design which promotes the PIXI brand, this role will suit a creative candidate with experience of managing online collaboration networks and a keen interest in improving employee experience.

You will have the opportunity to be imaginative and innovative as you build and improve our online communities.

You will be working alongside and supporting a small team of Employee Experience & Insight Managers and the post will provide the opportunity to be involved in the analysis of qualitative data to draw insights and recommendations and to ultimately learn the skills needed to carry out user research.

The post holder is required to work in a flexible way and undertake any other duties reasonably requested by their line management which are commensurate with the grade and level of responsibility of this post.

Main Activities/Responsibilities

  • Maintaining and growing our online communities, fostering and building collaboration.
  • Promoting the networks and wider team, developing cohesive and effective engagement strategies.
  • Content management: writing creative blogs and articles on behalf of the team, ensuring that all information is current and consistent.
  • Driving engagement and online conversation.
  • Building and managing strong internal and external stakeholder relationships.
  • Developing and managing a database of key contacts and volunteers who can help deliver the team’s objectives.
  • Developing and configuring the tools used to engage with the user communities.
  • Website administration; including moderating posts, approving new memberships, analytics, daily interaction and management of enquiries.
  • Keeping up to date with current digital trends and suggesting new ideas to enhance the team’s collaboration strategy.
  • Develop and maintain promotional material to support the team’s growth and build awareness of the services we offer to the department.
  • Providing support to employee experience research projects, managing online appointment slots, note taking during interviews and focus groups, creating and publishing polls and surveys.

Skills and Knowledge:

Essential

  • Must have experience and a solid understanding of managing online communities and driving engagement.
  • Strong editing and creative writing skills suitable for various platforms.
  • Able to understand trends and direct focus.
  • Ability to inspire and influence colleagues, demonstrating excellent communication skills and an ability to sell the value of online collaboration to stakeholders in a variety of roles.
  • Excellent teamwork and networking skills.
  • Careful eye for detail and the ability to work accurately.
  • Ability to work to tight timescales and under pressure, managing your priorities and ensuring delivery of quality products.
  • Ability to work with fluidity, moving between projects and networks.
  • Understanding the importance of managing, storing and protecting information and personal data
  • Adept at using Office 365 and its applications, such as MS Teams and MS Bookings.

Desirable:

  • Experience of online networking or engagement in a large and complex organisation?
  • Hands on experience in content management; ability to create and deliver creative content.
  • Experience using Kahootz, Miro, Crowdicity and social media platforms.
  • Experience of supporting user research projects.
  • Google analytics qualifications/experience

People Insights, Experience & Information Team

Part of the Workforce Experience, Planning and Insight Division (WEPI), we provide vital Employee Insights, Experience, Engagement & Information practice to support People Group projects and programmes and elevate people’s experience of working in MoJ. Our aim is to be the first port of call, for any new project being launched in People Group. We provide professional insights into our employees’ experiences of working in MoJ, and advice on taking care of our employees’ personal information.

Our focus is on Employee Experience, both in the sense of creating better days at work and improving the HR policies, processes and technology we use daily.

The team is also responsible for providing Information Assurance support to the Chief People Officer in his role as SIRO, ensuring that People Group and its service suppliers manage and protect information effectively. ​

The work we undertake is wide ranging and bespoke for the stakeholders we work alongside.

You will be joining a small, friendly, and energetic team who are based in various locations across the UK, from the South of England to the North of Scotland. Although we are not all based in the same office, we are experts at utilising technology such as Microsoft Teams to work collaboratively and make sure we schedule plenty of working together days with time built in for team building, remotely or in person depending on PHE advice.

Working Arrangements & Further Information

The national salary range is £30,451 - £34,105, London salary range is £34,262 - £38,373. Your salary will be dependent on your base location

Some of MoJ’s terms and conditions of service are changing as part of Civil Service reform. The changes will apply to staff joining MoJ who are new to the Civil Service. Staff joining MoJ from other civil service employers will transfer onto the new MoJ terms if they are already on 'modernised' terms in their current post or onto 'unmodernised' MoJ terms if they are on 'unmodernised' terms at their current post.
