The role

This opportunity will be for an enthusiastic and experienced SACM analyst. You will be part of and contribute to the development and delivery of a high-quality SACM Service. You’ll work in a service integration and management (SIAM) model and essential to your success will be the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with a variety of suppliers, both internal and external, and business stakeholders.

You will be a key point of contact for suppliers and business stakeholders, and will liaise with other internal teams, e.g. Information security teams, as required.

As a Service Asset and Configuration Management Analyst you will be expected to work closely with our suppliers to assure and govern processes around the identification, control, recording, reporting, verification and auditing of configuration items (CIs), held in a centralised Configuration Management Database (CMDB).

You will:

  • Draw from previous IT Asset Management experience and industry best practices in identifying areas that need improving or updating
  • Drive change to the existing Hardware Asset Management capability
  • Define and implement changes to ensure we have highly effective IT Asset Management going forward
  • Carry out activities to drive efficiency and play a key role by testing the processes along with knowledge transfer and education to the BAU Teams
  • Review and document existing processes and identify changes to deliver the implementation of improved policies and standards governing IT Asset Management
  • Work with tools and technologies as required to support the tracking of IT Assets
  • Support various teams in the population of the data and auditing to maintain the accuracy of the CMDB
  • Govern and support the processes regarding the effectiveness of the CMDB and identify risks and issues

You’ll have:

Essential:

●    Experience of working within IT Asset Management and using ITSM and discovery   tools

●    Experience of working collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams with a delivery focus in both project and operational environments

●    Experience of automating reports (as far as data sources/tooling will allow)

●    Fully knowledgeable with Microsoft Office, particularly in the use of Excel to analyse complex datasets

●    Excellent spoken and written English and the ability to write clear and concise text for different audiences

●    A wide experience of flexible and proactive information gathering

●    Ability and confidence to take charge of diverse tasks and deliver high quality work in a challenging and ever-changing environment

●    Ability to prioritise own workload under pressure from a high volume of work and conflicting priorities

Desirable:

●        IAITAM Certification

●        ITIL V3

●        Evidence of working in an Agile environment
