The role
We’re looking for talented and tenacious people to join our team in Sheffield to take the lead in creating world-class services in the justice system.
As an Oracle Database Administrators, you'll manage and maintain a suite of Oracle products that fundamental to a range of applications. You'll ensure applications are available within service level agreements (SLAs) and working to design. Your role is to maintain software levels and the security of the Oracle products and carry out activities in incident, problem, change and configuration management and Continual Service Improvement (CSI) processes.
You will:
- provide out of hours support on a rota for any priority 1 or priority 2 major incidents
- review and deploy application patches or upgrades provided by vendors or development teams
- maintain backup and recovery of data schedules installation, maintenance, upgrades and configuration of Oracle products monitoring and fixing performance related issues
- regularly review the capacity of installed Oracle products, maintaining services and responsible for conducting user and security administration.
- monitor Oracle products and are accountable for batch processes.
- fix technical problems, and liaising with the problem or incident manager.
You'll have
- experience with managing Oracle Database 11g and 12cR2 on Linux
- experience of managing Oracle Weblogic and Oracle HTTP Server
- experience working with large databases
- experience of working with Microsoft Azure and or AWS
- experience with with working with Backup and Recovery (RMAN, Datapump, Flashback database)
- experience of managing Oracle Data Guard
- experience of installations, upgrades and patching
- experience of configuration / automation / continuous integration tools (Ansible / Jenkins)

In such cases you will need to be able to provide referee cover for the period(s) of residence overseas. The duration of overseas residence and the country of abode will also be taken into account.
