Important salary details:

The key purpose of the role:

As a Delivery Manager you will plan the delivery of Agile sprints, track and report on progress to stakeholders and serve as an escalation point to resolve any blockers where necessary. You will work closely with the Product Manager and Business Analyst to ensure sprints are focused on business outcomes and benefits. You will establish and lead all the Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives etc).

You will be experienced in Agile and Waterfall methodologies and can advise your team on the appropriate use dependent on the project scenario. You will be given the opportunity to continue to grow your management capabilities as well as managing relationships with senior stakeholders as you progress to becoming a leading figure within the Delivery Manager community.

In this role, you will:

The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate the following criteria:

  • Experience of building productive relationships with internal and external Stakeholders such as Product Managers, Release Managers and Service Owners.
  • Line management experience.
  • A willingness to take ownership of problems and propose workable solutions.
  • Strong attention to detail and disciplined approach to task management.
  • Good awareness of Agile methodology and wider project management techniques (Waterfall, MSP etc).
  • Ability to quality assure, validate and analyse data to assist in key management decisions.
  • Understanding and focus on user needs in the context of the bigger picture.
  • Willingness to learn new ways of working with modern tools i.e. Jira, Confluence, ServiceNow and Slack.

Desirable Criteria:

  • An understanding of civil and/or criminal work in a front-line operational environment.
  • A background and understanding of digital and technology services.

Working Arrangements & Further Information

Some of MoJ’s terms and conditions of service are changing as part of Civil Service reform. The changes will apply to staff joining MoJ who are new to the Civil Service.
