We are looking to appoint an ambitious and creative Senior Digital Content Manager to help us deliver digital campaigns that truly make a difference. You might know our team’s work from the upskirting campaign over the past year, or perhaps you’ve seen our work on other hugely important subjects such as stillbirth, non-consensual sharing of imagery or prison and probation.

So what does the job entail? You will take a leading role in managing digital campaigns across our social media channels, as well as building partnerships with digital influencers in this space. Our work has a strong audience focus and you will be at the forefront of finding creative ways to engage with different groups with an interest in our work. Creativity, attention to detail, collaboration and a passion for the work are key. As is the ability to manage several priorities under pressure and to tight deadlines.

You will report into the Head of Content and Channels.

Responsibilities

  • Produce, commission and oversee high-quality, audience-focused digital content for key MoJ announcements and low/no cost campaigns - making use of creative content, partnerships and existing/emerging digital channels.
  • Identify and bring to life creative and strategic opportunities to reach intended audiences, using MoJ and non-MoJ channels.
  • Work collaboratively with a range of colleagues in the campaigns team, press office, design agency (Design 102) and private office.
  • Build relationships with other government departments, partners and influencers to enhance the reach of our key messages online.
  • Confidently upskill others in the use of digital communications to support the department’s objectives.
  • Put insight and evaluation at the heart of your work to ensue we are able to measure impact and reach our intended audiences.
  • Take on occasional out-of-hours work, in agreement with the Head of Content and Channels.

Person specification 

  • Proven experience in leading ambitious digital campaigns that are audience-focused, channel-specific and grounded in insight.
  • Extensive experience in crafting, commissioning, designing and publishing a range of creative digital content.
  • A passion for, and knowledge of, best practice digital content, emerging channels and the latest tools.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience of using evaluation to analyse the impact of your work and acting on results to revise your approach.
  • Good understanding of risk and how to mitigate it.
  • Ability to work confidently with a range of colleagues, external partners and ministers, and to influence direction of work.
  • Very strong written and verbal skills; you will be transforming complicated information into easy-to-understand content for specific audiences.

Working Arrangements & Further Information

Some of MoJ’s terms and conditions of service are changing as part of Civil Service reform. The changes will apply to staff joining MoJ who are new to the Civil Service. Staff joining MoJ from other civil service employers will transfer onto the new MoJ terms if they are already on 'modernised' terms in their current post or onto 'unmodernised' MoJ terms if they are on 'unmodernised' terms at their current post. Details will be available if an offer is made.

Annual leave is 25 days on appointment and will increase to 30 days after five years’ service.

Grading Structure Review

The Ministry of Justice is currently undergoing a review of posts which are currently graded at Band A to realign our grading structure with the majority of the wider Civil Service.

Security Clearance (SC)

To apply for roles in MOJ you will need to confirm your employment history for at least 3 years prior to the date of application so that pre-employment checks (BPSS) can be undertaken.
