The Role

The Mobility Device Officer is responsible for day to day operational aspects of the Telephony device and contract delivery. 

The MoJ Telephony team services a large estate of over 20,000 smartphone users and over 900 physical sites, including numerous remote/home workers.  

The Mobility Device Officer role includes the day to day deployment of telephony devices and Mifi’s, updating of asset register, recording/asset tagging devices, providing a face to face service for users, and managing the Telephony mailbox.  

The successful candidate will have extensive, demonstrable experience in;

  • Working within a Customer Services Field providing clear precise technical guidance and instruction to a large and varied userbase. The candidate should display problem solving skills, aligned with patience and a positive attitude.
  • Asset and configuration management - Maintains secure configuration and accurate information, controlling IT assets in one or more significant areas, and verifying location and state of assets.
  • Broad Technical Understanding. Excellent product knowledge of full functionality of Apple iPhone/iPad devices and Samsung phones and tablets and Mobile Telephony network services. Product knowledge of MS Office applications and Managed Device Mobility environments. 
  • Providing first time resolution by troubleshooting and diagnosing and resolving incidents impacting mobile phones or tablets and mobile network services.
  • Lead and develop high performing team members, embedding working practices and be responsible for any training needs for the team
  • Continual service improvement - Aware of the importance in developing process efficiency and common ways in which processes are optimised. Supports specific activities to improve development processes. Able to spot or identify obvious deficiencies.
  • Working effectively under pressure, ensuring that positive outcomes are delivered timely for customers and delivering new technology at pace.
