Project Manager Electronic Monitoring North East Region - This role has a minimum assignment duration of 3 years. An assignment duration is the period of time a Senior Civil Servant is expected to remain in the same post to enable them to deliver on the agreed key business outcomes. The assignment duration also supports your career through building your depth of expertise.

The EM project manager will deliver operational implementation of the EM strategy and objectives across the region.  Reporting to the EM band 6 strategic lead they will provide support to PDU teams on EM, offering advice and guidance on the strategy, best practice and providing briefings on the performance framework.  They will play a key role in delivering briefings prepared by the strategic lead to enhance understanding of this area of work. Their aim is to drive consistency in approach to EM across the region and to ensure our activity surrounding EM continuously improves, capturing and sharing best practice and identifying areas  for development.   They will feed into the Strategic Lead’s update to the National EM team with updates from region. This post will be based in [region] interfacing with the national team, strategic leads and front line operations.  This post will sit in the hierarchy of the ACO in region with EM responsibility.

Overview of the job

The NPS Change Portfolio Team exists to:

•    Deliver change projects within the NPS to deliver business benefit or mitigate risk
•    Own the ‘NPS eye view’ of all national or significant change being delivered across the NPS
•    Provide PMO services to E3.

This role is to act as a project manager delivering projects to the NPS. Typical projects are listed below.

Summary

The team works closely with System Change Teams in the NPS divisions, and with national change programmes – such as FITS, SOP and T&S.

Responsibilities, Activities and Duties

Project work currently in hand includes:

•    Providing NPS business expertise to FITS (and other national programmes) who are implementing change across the MoJ
•    Delivery of an information management programme which is designed to increase the maturity of information management practices within the NPS
•    Supporting the delivery of the Standard Operating Platform into the NPS this autumn
•    Delivering the ICT elements of the E3 programme

We foresee that there will always be a rolling programme of change projects in delivery, this list is part of the current workload.

Hours of Work and Allowances

37 hours per week.

Working Arrangements & Further Information

The MoJ offers Hybrid Working arrangements where business need allows. This is an informal, non-contractual form of flexible working that blends working from your base location, different MoJ sites and / or from home (please be aware that this role can only be worked in the UK and not overseas). Some roles will not be suitable for Hybrid Working. Similarly, Hybrid Working will not suit everyone’s circumstances. Arrangements will be discussed and agreed with the successful candidate(s) and subject to regular review.  

For nationally advertised roles, the successful candidate(s) will be appointed to a MoJ office location, which may include their nearest Justice Collaboration Centre or Justice Satellite Office. This will be discussed and agreed on the completion of pre-employment checks.

Some of MoJ’s terms and conditions of service are changing as part of Civil Service reform. The changes will apply to staff joining MoJ who are new to the Civil Service. Staff joining MoJ from other civil service employers will transfer onto the new MoJ terms if they are already on 'modernised' terms in their current post or onto 'unmodernised' MoJ terms if they are on 'unmodernised' terms at their current post. Details will be available if an offer is made.

Standard working hours are 37 hours per week excluding breaks which are unpaid.
