We’re looking for an exceptional candidate to join our Strategy and Customer team within the HMCTS Customer Directorate in the role of Customer Strategy Lead.

The purpose of the Strategy and Capability Team is to solve issues which prevent HMCTS from being customer driven, focusing on the areas where the team can have the biggest impact. This requires a high performing team with the ability to act as a catalyst for change across HMCTS and beyond.

HMCTS is transforming radically how the courts and tribunal services are delivered across England and Wales. One of the most complex and ambitious transformations across the Government, the reform will modernise the court estate, updating and replacing its technology, speeding up and streamlining working practices, refurbishing buildings to reduce maintenance costs and most importantly provide improved services for our customers.

You will support the Head of Strategy and Capability in creating and embedding the customer strategy for HMCTS, baselining where the organisation is in its journey to meet the customer vision and measure and report on this going forward.

The successful candidate will be required to manage the engagement necessary to ensure the effectiveness of the Strategy and Capability team.

Your role will involve:

  • Working in partnership with the Head of Strategy and Capability to develop the customer strategy which will support HMCTS in becoming a customer driven organisation. Champion the requirements to deliver this strategy.
  • Being accountable for the development of the definition of what customer service means to us by capturing and articulating what level of service we will provide our diverse customer base.
  • Using existing customer insight and leverage work already undertaken by third party suppliers to influence what HMCTS should be measuring in order to capture what is important to our customers and to drive the right employee behaviours. Identify how we are performing against these expectations and design interventions to drive forward the customer plan
  • Collating and effectively communicating how we perform against our customer vision utilising our customer insight function as appropriate
  • Working collaboratively with the CSC, local and national tier projects as well as the cross cutting enabling projects to understand and influence the desired end state customer experience to drive forward the customer plan.
  • Being responsible for attending key stakeholder meetings and effectively managing stakeholders for the Strategy and Capability team.

To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate the following:

  • An established track record in programme/project delivery specialising in customer experience
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to work in partnership with third party suppliers
  • Experience of working within a complex organisation to identify priorities which improve customer outcomes

Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS)
