Job Purpose

  • To manage allocated cases ensuring all relevant stages of the parole process and other appropriate systems are completed within prescribed deadlines.
  • To proactively case manage to ensure that arrangements are in place to support effective reviews and, within Parole Board guidelines, provide secretariat support.
  • Ensure reasons for parole decisions comply with policy and guidelines and are sent within the Business Plan Objective timescale.
  • To work to ensure the Parole Board delivers effective parole reviews and meets the objectives and timescales as set out in the Business Plan.
  • Support and contribute to improving the MCA and Oral Hearings process ensuring reviews are completed in a timely manner.
  • Ensure all deferred, adjourned, prioritised and expedited cases are managed effectively ensuring oral hearing panels are identified in a timely manner in accordance with the any logistical requirements.

Scope of Responsibilities:

All case managers will ensure cases are progressed appropriately with particular emphasis on their own specific area of responsibility.

  • You will create and maintain positive, professional and trusting working relationships with a wide range of people within the Parole Board, and our wider criminal justice partners, including contacts outside of the Civil service to help get business done.

The job holder must be able to fulfil all spoken aspects of the role with confidence in English or (when specified in Wales) Welsh.
