Operational Delivery

Job Purpose

To provide effective training for Operational Parole Board staff through the review of training needs and the scheduling of job specific and mandatory training. Particularly to ensure that Parole Board staff have sufficient training and developmental support to allow them to deliver the Parole Board business objectives.

Scope of Responsibilities:

To lead on the development and delivery of operational training for the Parole Board.

Main Duties

  • Regular review of an induction and probation learning plan for staff, consistent across operational teams;
  • Development, monitoring and regular review of a single process for training need identification.
  • Support and encourage Team Leaders to develop staff making full use of the Parole Board competency framework.
  • Provide oversight for updating the Case Management handbook, ensuring that sections are clear and that changes are regularly communicated.
  • Oversee the induction and probation period for staff, providing input and support for Team Leaders to deliver individual Probation Plans
  • Maintain records to support the provision of statistics on training need and training provision as required by management
  • Co-ordinate or, where needed, personally provide the delivery of training
  • Work with the management team to ensure agreed training is scheduled and delivered
  • Work with identified stakeholders to assist in the scheduling and delivery of agreed training.
  • Work alongside Team Leaders to create guidance for new processes based on reviews such as the rules review.
