Overview

As a Learning & Development Consultant you will be part of the learning and development team which facilitates learning across the organisation. You will deliver core learning sessions including induction and provide advice on learning & development solutions to customers and stakeholders. You will foster a culture of continuous improvement to improve on the quality of service provided by the team.

Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct learning needs analysis
  • Conduct evaluation of all services provided to identify areas for improvement.
  • Design suitable cost effective learning products to address learning needs.
  • Deliver learning activities to OPG L&D quality assurance standards within agreed deadlines
  • Facilitate the uptake of CSL learning products
  • Provide advice on learning solutions to fit the needs of their business area
  • Proactively look for ways to improve service delivery and work with the team to suggest and introduce improvements.
  • Support and contribute to the aims, objectives and performance of the OPG as a whole.
  • Undertake ad-hoc projects as agreed with your manager to support the development and delivery of business initiatives. The duties will be appropriate to the skill set of this post.

The Learning Consultant will be expected to be available for some evening delivery and to travel between sites for delivery and meetings.

Effectiveness in this area means focusing on delivering timely performance with energy and taking responsibility and accountability for quality outcomes. For all staff, it’s about working to agreed goals and activities and dealing with challenges in a responsive and constructive way.

  • Create regular reviews of what and who is required to make a project/activity successful and make ongoing improvements
  • Be interested and positive about what they and the team are trying to achieve
  • Take ownership of problems in their own area of responsibility
  • Remain positive and focused on achieving outcomes despite setbacks
  • Check own and team performance against outcomes, make improvement suggestions or take corrective action when problems are identified

Depending on the number of applications received, the lead competency will be "Building Capability for All".

Working Arrangements & Further Information

Some of MoJ’s terms and conditions of service are changing as part of Civil Service reform. The changes will apply to staff joining MoJ who are new to the Civil Service. Staff joining MoJ from other civil service employers will transfer onto the new MoJ terms if they are already on 'modernised' terms in their current post or onto 'unmodernised' MoJ terms if they are on 'unmodernised' terms at their current post. Details will be available if an offer is made.
