We’re looking for a dynamic, creative communications professional to lead the development and delivery of high-profile, first class campaigns for a one-year maternity cover.
The successful applicant will lead campaigns for the international, courts and justice portfolios, most notably the flagship “Legal Services are GREAT” campaign, which is under the banner of the cross-Government GREAT campaign. You will join and oversee an ambitious team, promoting the UK’s legal offer overseas and win business for our law firms, chambers and courts, as part of the MOJ’s international strategy. Your role will involve the strategic development and implementation of this high-profile campaign, critically assessing insight to develop engaging content which will encourage international audiences to choose the UK for their legal advice. You will be confident engaging with audiences across the globe and the UK legal sector, working with colleagues at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) and Department for International Trade (DIT), building close working relationships with embassies around the world, in designing and delivering major first-class events at home and overseas or virtually (travel-permitting).
You will also provide strategic communications advice across Ministry of Justice courts and justice policy, with potential opportunity to develop and deliver additional campaigns. You will be flexible in your approach and quick to respond to new priorities. This is a unique opportunity to work on an international and domestic portfolio, communicating top government priorities to a wide range of audiences from senior lawyers to charities supporting the most-disadvantaged.
Have you got strong experience of leading campaigns, both paid-for and no-cost, to deliver a high return on investment? Do you have a strong track record of establishing insight to set stretching objectives, and meeting them? Are you as confident setting the strategic direction for a campaign, as you are in delivering it through high impact, events and engagement at home and abroad? If so, you could be the perfect candidate for this role.
The job is based in the Strategic Communications and Campaigns team (part of Communication and Information Directorate). You will work alongside an existing Band A (G7) who leads campaigns for the prison and probation policy area, and be part of a wider team including digital, external affairs and strategic communications. Your role will involve working with policy and communications colleagues, Ministers, private offices and Special Advisors to define communications objectives, understand audiences, create content for external channels and evaluate the impact and success of communications activity.
