Important salary details:
New recruits to the Civil Service joining MoJ are expected to join at the band minimum.

Existing Civil Servants applying on promotion, will usually be appointed on the salary minimum of the new pay band, or receive an increase of 10 percent on the current base salary, whichever is higher (This is restricted to the pay maximum of the new band).

Merit List:
HMCTS run a Merit List, where candidates who are unsuccessful at interview, by only a few points, can be offered other roles, at the same band, for up to 12 months!

So, it is always a good idea to apply for a role, and try as best as you can at interview, as you never know what future opportunities it may open! Job Description:

As a Senior Business Analyst working on the DTS Infrastructure Programme, you will be able to anticipate the impact of your work especially when drawing up proposals for change. A key aspect of the role is the ability to plan-ahead, think strategically and ensure that operations, service provision or policy programmes are developed to meet changing business needs.

Key Responsibilities:

Agile & Lean Practices    

•    Identify and compare the best processes or delivery methods to use, including measuring and evaluating outcomes

 •    The post holder is required to work in a flexible way and undertake any other duties reasonably requested by line management which are commensurate with the grade and level of responsibility of this post.

•    You will have the ability to convey detailed advice and information to other employees, including those in more senior grades
•    You will be expected to act independently on day-to-day issues and take a strategic view on operational or policy areas only referring to more senior grades the issues which have serious policy or resource implications

Working Arrangements & Further Information

Some of MoJ’s terms and conditions of service are changing as part of Civil Service reform. The changes will apply to staff joining MoJ who are new to the Civil Service. Staff joining MoJ from other civil service employers will transfer onto the new MoJ terms if they are already on 'modernised' terms in their current post or onto 'unmodernised' MoJ terms if they are on 'unmodernised' terms at their current post. Details will be available if an offer is made.

Annual leave is 25 days on appointment and will increase to 30 days after five years’ service.

Grading Structure Review

The Ministry of Justice is currently undergoing a review of posts which are currently graded at Band A to realign our grading structure with the majority of the wider Civil Service.
